Post Bariatric Surgery
in the last 3 years the number of patients that have undergone massive weight lost have increase dramatically, this has make us attend more training courses and develop and design more operation for this type of patients. We have able to perform in a single patient: face lift, breast lift, arm pit & upper back resection J incision, braquioplasty (arm reduction), extended tummy tuck, vertical tummy tuck, Brazilian but lift, inner thigh lift and outer thigh lift.
The reality for most of this patient is that no matter how aggressive is the removal of skin in each procedure there will always be more skin, do to the fact that skin is an elastic organ. We always try to stage the procedures, and rarely perform more than 2 to 3 procedures at the time, The most important thing is to have a patient I good health conditions, blood work, EKG, and preoperative evaluation is mandatory, also it is very important to stop any blood thinners such as: aspirin, multivitamins, vitamin E, Motrin, ibuprofen, and supplements with ginkobilova, ginseng, and green tea. This medication must be stop for at least 3 to 4 weeks.
It is also very important to start a high protein diet for at least 4 weeks prior to surgery; this will help the patient to be in better conditions for the wound healing process.
The procedures we offered to post bariatric patients are: face lift, breast lift, breast augmentation or reduction, arm pit and upper back with a J resection (from the back of the armpit to the inframammary crash, procedure design by Dr. M.G.) full arm reduction (from elbow to arm pit) or mini arm reduction only in the armpit, tummy tuck, extended tummy tuck, vertical tummy tuck, Brazilian but lift, inner thigh lift, outer thigh lift, but implants, genital reconstruction & vaginal reconstruction.
“The patient priority is fist” the procedure will be stage according to the patient need and priority. We like to begin with breast and tummy, continue with face, arms and thighs, and finish with but and upper back. We like to wait between surgeries 1 to 2 months, and make sure the patient is with a good protein in take filers and Botox, reconstructive surgery,

I haven't written in a while so I thought I would jot down a few thoughts.
Well I am down 41 lbs and I really do feel good.
I have some problems with certain foods but I am hoping that will change.
Salads, are very hard to eat unless I use shredded lettuce. Breads are still a no go,
I am doing better with pasta now, and I have always done fine with Mexican food. Whoooohoooo! Rube made Prime Rib over the weekend and I was able to eat it so that made my day. She is such a good cook.
I am walking on the treadmill at least 3 times a week.
So 41lbs down what can I do now that I couldn't do 40lbs ago?
I stay up later, Bryan and I use to fall into bed about 7:30 -8:00 pm we don't even go to bed now until about 10:00 - 11:00. This is a first for both of us.
My foot is doing wonderful and I can walk 3 MPH on the treadmill which was not even a option 41 lbs ago.
But you want to know what tickles me to know end?
I can bend over and tie my shoes. Yep. something so simple I could not do 40 lbs ago.

The medication I use to take has dropped more then half.
I am happier and do not get so sad. I am going through pre menopause, it was affecting me really bad. I was taking Esterven for it. since the 41lbs lost I have not had to take anything and I feel really good.
So I have cut back on meds _saving money
I only eat 1/4 of a serving so I share meals with Bryan - saving money.
I am happier and not so sad, When I am happy everyone is happy ;)
My clothes are hanging on me _well so much for saving money ... :)
I have more energy.
We stay up later and enjoy each more as we are not falling into bed at night.
I can bend over and tie my shoes.
Most of all my husband is so proud of me.
People say when you have weight loss surgery you are taking the easy way out.
I am telling you that this is not easy. It is a mind game you play with yourself ever day.
It is a life time commitment. I struggle at times. Sometimes it is pain full to eat.
Would I do it again? Absolutely!
Would I go to Mexico again and have it done? In a heart beat!
Am I happy with the results? Extremely
But with that being said. I also have the love an support on my family and friends.
I could not do any of this with out them.
Bryan is my rock. He is right beside me every step of the way. He watches what he eats. He has also lost about 15 lbs on my diet.
He supports me when I feel like I am not progressing fast enough he cheers me on and tells me how wonderful I am doing and how proud of me he is.
I love him with all of my heart. and because of his love and support I am able to do this.
I will write again next month and we will see where the next 30 days takes us.
